In the era of digital COFDM links, conventional analogue FM equipment has tended to get put aside. However, this proven reliable equipment still has its place and in many applications low cost, small size, low weight and low power consumption are key performance criteria that COFDM solutions struggle to meet. Navtech continues to develop and promote analogue FM equipment alongside digital COFDM and with our latest diversity analogue receivers can offer multipath resistant performance and non line of sight link capability. This can give a new lease of life to existing analogue transmitters and provides additional surveillance capabilities that were previously unavailable with analogue FM transmission methods.
