Digital Links

Navtech offers a comprehensive range of COFDM-based digital microwave links that enable video and data to be wirelessly transmitted without the limitations of conventional analogue FM links. Multipath picture break-up is effectively eliminated by the use of COFDM which spreads data over 2000 different carrier frequencies contained within 6, 7 or 8MHz channels. Advanced error correction algorithms together with the latest multiple-antenna diversity reception methods provide an extremely high level of transmission robustness and data integrity. These systems enable reliable non ‘line of sight’ links to be achieved by making use of reflected signal paths and with the increased ‘sensitivity’ of the receivers, an increase in range performance of up to four times can be achieved when compared to conventional analogue FM equipment.
