Aircraft Transtenna & Control Unit
The Transtenna transmitter and antenna unit together with the PSU/Telenav encoder and ARINC
Controller (shown above), provides a full installation for a microwave downlink. The PSU assembly
unit measures just 240mm x 150mm x 100mm and incorporates the power supply converter for the
Transtenna and video processing systems, Telenav GPS encoder and encryption facility, if
required.
The Encoder unit converts power from the aircraft supply and takes video from the on-board
camera. Video outputs are also available for viewing the camera images on standard monitors.
A comprehensive control allows individual operation of the transmission and encryption facilities.
Installation is simple with minimal wiring. A short RF feeder to the actuator mounted antenna and a
single umbilical cable and coaxial video feed complete the installation between the PSU/Telenav
unit and the transmitter.
